Senior Platform Engineer / Premium Banking

Location: Remote

Compensation: $180k-$220k + equity + benefits

We're looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to help build and scale the foundational infrastructure behind a modern financial technology platform. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys designing systems from the ground up, improving developer productivity, and owning platform reliability across the engineering organization.

You'll have the opportunity to shape technical direction, establish platform best practices, and build the internal tooling and infrastructure that enable product teams to deliver quickly and confidently.

What You'll Do

  • Design, build, and evolve the platform infrastructure supporting core products and services, with a strong emphasis on infrastructure as code.

  • Create internal developer platforms, tooling, and self-service workflows that improve engineering velocity and reliability.

  • Own CI/CD pipelines and release automation to ensure safe, efficient deployments.

  • Build and maintain platform services including configuration management, feature flags, secrets management, background processing, caching, and messaging infrastructure.

  • Improve observability through logging, monitoring, alerting, and performance analysis.

  • Strengthen platform security through access controls, secrets management, vulnerability remediation, and secure development practices.

  • Partner with engineering teams to automate compliance, audit readiness, and operational processes.

  • Participate in the on-call rotation for platform infrastructure and production systems.

What We're Looking For

  • 6+ years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on platform, infrastructure, DevOps, or backend engineering.

  • Deep experience designing and operating cloud infrastructure in production environments.

  • Strong background with containerization, orchestration technologies, CI/CD systems, and release engineering.

  • Experience improving developer experience through automation and internal tooling.

  • Comfortable working within Python-based applications and distributed systems.

  • Experience with asynchronous processing, caching technologies, and messaging systems.

  • Familiarity with modern observability platforms for logging, monitoring, tracing, and performance management.

  • Strong understanding of infrastructure security, identity and access management, and compliance frameworks.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

You'll Thrive Here If You

  • Enjoy building foundational systems that enable other engineers to succeed.

  • Like taking ownership of large technical initiatives from design through production.

  • Prefer automating operational and compliance processes over manual workflows.

  • Are comfortable contributing across multiple areas of the technology stack.

  • Want to influence technical strategy within a growing engineering organization.

  • Enjoy solving complex infrastructure and reliability challenges.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision

  • Flexible time off
